We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel. Cousins Cadence, Mirren, and Johnny spend their summers with their families and a friend, Gat, on a small, private island. At 15, Cady is found in a tshirt and a head injury, with no memory of what happened. No one discusses it with her and the summers go by. When she is 17, the truth comes back to haunt her. The four of them burnt down the main house on the island and the other three, Mirren, Johnny, and Gat were killed in the fire. The intended audience is 15years and older. This was a wonderful book. I read it in a couple of hours!
